How a hand becomes a road
Three ideas, and the scoreboard at any baccarat table starts to make sense.
01 · The deal
Closest to 9 wins.
Player and Banker each get two cards. Tens and faces count 0, aces 1, and only the last digit counts. A third card comes only by fixed rules, so nobody makes a choice. You bet on Player, Banker or a Tie.
Player7 + 0 = 7
Banker9 + 7 = 16 → 6
Player wins, 7 to 6.
02 · The Big Road
The scoreboard records it.
Banker wins are red, Player wins blue. The same winner again goes down the column; a new winner starts a new column. A tie is a green slash on the last bead.
